Recipe for Burn-Out Stew – Plus Remedy

Faith

Photographer Kat Jayne Pexels

Take a cup of fixing and add a cup of pleasing.

Whip with a boundary-less whisk until it starts to froth.

Set it aside to rise with the yeast of anger.

When it is the color of a ripe tomato, the stew is ready for blame and to be all consuming.  Heart burn will result.

Remedy for the Heartburn

Drink a large glass of boundaries with a tablespoon of responsibility. The resulting perspective should take the edge off the heartburn. Add to this some good old-fashion no’s (at least 3) and it will move you in the right direction. Do something creative and it will speed things along.

Then sit in a tub of forgiveness and soak until you have forgiven inside and out. Towel dry with Christ’s love and you’re set to go.

Footnote: Starting with the remedy first will save you a lot of time and energy.

You know I’m not a cook… but this recipe sounds so familiar! I’m sure I’ve used it a million times. You’re right – I’ll skip the mess and order in for a change!

Thank you for your comment. Exactly, and God never intended life to be an endless treadmill. He beckons to us in Matthew 11:28 “Come … all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

[…] In our modern society of powered lights, entertainment, and 24 hour computer access rest is often overlooked, and even viewed as a waste of time. You have deadlines, the term paper is due, the meeting is tomorrow, the client demands are NOW. You must finish. All of this is a recipe for Burnout Stew. […]
